The Second International Food Expo came to a close in Urumqi in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region on July 26.

The expo covered an area of 100,000 square meters and featured approximately 2,500 stalls, twice as many as last year. Around 1,500 domestic and foreign enterprises displayed their products at the expo. The number of visitors to the expo exceeded 300,000, an increase of 43 percent compared to 2014.

Promotion meetings and gatherings were also held for exhibitors, at which 67 contracts were signed, involving approximately 5 billion yuan ($80.53 million). A barbecue competition and a crusty pancake cooking competition were also held.
