Yunnan Xinhua Bookstore Co. Ltd. was established in May 2000. It cooperates with large publishing groups such as China Publishing Group Corporation, China Education Publishing & Media Group Ltd., Shanghai Century Publishing Group and Chongqing Publishing Group, and over 560 publishing houses.

In 2004, it received the General Issuance License of Publication Operation issued by the General Administration of Press and Publication, and thus became the largest publication company - in terms of operation scope, product variety and influence - in Yunnan.
