The third China-South Asia Expo, aimed at boosting regional cooperation, will be held from June 12 to 16 in Kunming, the capital of Southwest China’s Yunnan province.

Under the theme of sincere cooperation and mutual benefit, the expo this year will focus on the “Belt and Road” initiatives – the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Rod – to usher in an era of China’s integration and cooperation with countries along the “road”.

The annual expo used to open on June 6 every year. But the opening of the expo this year will take place on June 12 this year. in order to give way to ‘gaokao’, the nationwide university entrance examination in China, and the national budget vote in some South Asian countries.

The construction of the Kunming Dianchi International Conference and Exhibition Center, the site of the expo, has progressed fast. The director of the construction project said that it is expected to be fully completed by April 30.

The 23rd Kunming Import and Export Fair will also open simultaneously with the expo.
