March 12 is Arbor Day in China. To celebrate the day, children at Dingyi Kindergarten, located within the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone, planted trees and flowers with the help of their teachers.

First, the teachers explained the origin of Arbor Day and the importance of trees for ecological balance. After that, the children were divided into three groups and set off to plant strawberries, corn and some flowers.

The activity was aimed at raising children’s awareness to protect trees and flowers and develop their sense of responsibility, according to the organizer of the kindergarten.
