IBM's new brain-like chip
IBM發(fā)明強大'類人腦'芯片
IBM has developed a computer chip that it says will function like a human brain, foreign media reported. TrueNorth is hailed as the world's first neurosynaptic(神經(jīng)突觸) computer chip because it can figure things out on its own. With 1m "neurons"(神經(jīng)元) and 256m programmable synapses(突觸), the chip could cram the same power as a super computer into a circuit the size of a postage stamp. That's far lower than the 100b neurons and 100 trillion to 150 trillion synapses in the human brain - but still enough to run devices that could, for example, proactively issue tsunami alerts or do oil-spill monitoring, according to IBM. 據(jù)外媒報道，IBM日前開發(fā)出一種可以像人腦一樣工作的電腦芯片，TrueNorth，稱其為世界首個神經(jīng)突觸計算機芯片，因為它有獨立認知能力。其尺寸只有一張郵票大小，性能卻直逼超級計算機，芯片上集成了100萬個"神經(jīng)元"和2.56億個可編程的"突觸"。雖然這遠低于人腦的1千億個神經(jīng)元和100到150萬億個突觸，但IBM稱，它足以運行一些設(shè)備進行如主動發(fā)布海嘯預警或監(jiān)控石油泄漏的工作。(見圖)
