Design contest for pins of Beijing Olympics launched

Supported by the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XIX Olympiad (BOCOG) and sponsored by Coca Cola company, a design contest for the pins of the Beijing Olympic Games was launched on Friday.
The Olympics and the Olympic sports, as well as Chinese culture, are some of the topics the participants will need to illustrate in their designs. The deadline for submissions is June 30, 2007; the results will be announced after three rounds of selection on August 8, 2007, when the countdown to the opening of the 2008 Olympics reaches the one-year mark.
Open to residents of the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, the across the nation contest is the first of its kind in Olympic history.
