Time for China to be resolute

Comment on "Toward a not so stable 2012" (China Daily, Dec 21)

The article is well written. As the global economy is going through recession, now is not the time to increase tensions. Instead, more international communications and cooperation are needed to solve global issues.

But, unfortunately, there are people who will stir up trouble and try to take advantage of people's fears to garner more wealth and power.

China has acted with remarkable constraint considering the multitude of protests against it, not just economically, but politically and militarily too. China may need to be more resolute and counterattack with peaceful means. It should be flexible yet unyielding.
