Katie dips toe into fashion design

BUDDING DESIGNER: Katie Holmes looked stunning in a strappy navy dress on the red carpet, sparking speculation about who had created her outfit - she designed it. [Agencies] Everybody on the red carpet of Tropic Thunder wanted to know who had designed Katie Holmes' dress - it turns out that Katie herself came up with the concept. The ‘Mad Money' actress looked stunning in a strappy navy dress on the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of her husband Tom Cruise's new movie, sparking speculation about who had created her outfit. However, it has now been revealed Katie designed the navy gown with the help of her stylist Jeanne Yang. Although the glamorous dress, which featured a leather pleated bodice proved a hit on the red carpet, the 29-year-old star's representative has told People magazine the actress has no plans to release her own fashion line. If Katie does reconsider a career in fashion, she would be following in the footsteps of a host of celebrities who have launched their own collections. Supermodel Kate Moss released a fashion line with UK high street chain Topshop last year, while Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, Sarah Jessica Parker, Victoria Beckham and Avril Lavigne have also tried their hand at designing. |
