Soldiers plunge giant stones from ships into the Yangtze River at Jinxing village, Mianchuan town, Pengze county, Jiujiang city in East China's Jiangxi province on July 19, 2010. Affected by the rising water level, nine dikes in the area have been on the verge of being breached. Local government responded by bringing in civil ships loaded with more than 400 soldiers as well as 410 cubic meters of stones that will be used for dike reinforcement. [Photo/Xinhua] |
