Performance Information A story about intrigue and revenge, the courtesan Su San fell in love with Wang Jinlong. Yet fate has it that Su was sold to become concubine to another man, whose wife became jealous and plotted to poison Su. Unfortunately, her husband ate the poison instead. Su was sentenced to death, but eventually Wang returned to save her.

Yihong Shi is a National First Class actor from the Shanghai Peking Opera Theater. Among Shi's teachers were Zhhang Meijuan and Yu Yonghua as well as operatic expert Lu Wenqin. Shi was first trained in female military roles, then researched and trained in Mei Lanfang's style. Some of Shi's best known works are Female Generals of the Yang Family, Legend of the White Snake, Farewell My Concubine, Drunken Concubine, Zhaojun Leaving Her Home Country, Azalea Mountain and Shajiabang.
