The authorities in north China's Tianjin municipality recently started the trial run of two auxiliary channels along each side of the two main channels in Tianjin Port.

The new channels will divert large and small ships so as to ease the traffic congestion of the main channels - and the new channels are thus expected to help increase the port's traffic capacity by 47 percent.
