Light industry focuses on such fields as food and beverage, packaging, textiles and daily chemicals. Because of their widespread use of a lot of downstream petrochemical products, the packaging, textile and daily chemicals sectors are closely connected to the booming petrochemical industry in Tianjin.

In 2015, light industry is projected to have combined revenues of 210 billion yuan, or 9 percent of Binhai’s total amount. Five industrial parks will be developed for the industry.
