Meet Int’l writers at Suzhou Bookworm Literary Festival

Highlighted with top international writers to host thought-provoking book talks, the 9th Bookworm Literary Festival at Suzhou Bookworm bookshop from March 13 to 29 has a literary feast to offer.

British best-selling author of "The Island", Victoria Hislop is one of the most anticipated authors of the event. She will talk about her writing career and introduce her latest novel, The Sunrise, in Suzhou on March 23.

World-renowned poet Willis Barnston will share his story with China for he visited the county in 1972 during the Cultural Revolution and was a Fulbright professor at Beijing Foreign Studies University in 1984-85. His son Tony Barnstone, also a renowned poet, will join his conversation to literary lovers on March 20.

Canadian physician-turned novelist Vincent Lam, experimental Chinese novelist Sheng Keyi and Oxford University academic Faramerz Dahboiwala are just some of the top names on the roster. As a privately funded event of the Bookworm Group, the Bookworm Literary Festival has been creating a platform to bridge literature between international writing world and China since 2007.
