Golden Statue photography awards wrap up in Sanmenxia

The award ceremony of the 12th China Photography Art Festival commenced with the grand opening in Sanmenxia on Nov 18.

The national top individual award in the field of photography, it drew a large number of participants, including government officials, artists and experts.

Li Qianguang, Party member of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC), made a speech at the ceremony. He noted that this year marks the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up, and so this year's festival hosted a specially themed exhibition with 700 works to show audiences China's dynamic changes over the past 40 years.

Dai Baihua, vice-governor of Henan province, spoke highly of the festival. He said that the festival provides a platform to display the achievements Henan has gained in China's reform and opening-up.

A total of 21 photographers got awards at the ceremony. The award categories include two CFLAC Lifetime Achievement Photographers, and documentary, fine-art and commercial photography awards.
