BOE to tap Russian market

BOE, allying with Huawei, is to boost its prestige in Russia’s video market, according to a Feb 17 E Times report.
The alliance was established during a three-day international expo highlighting communication devices that opened in Moscow, capital of Russia, on Feb 7. More than 10 Chinese companies attended the expo, including BOE and Huawei.
BOE expects to sell 4K Ultra HD TVs in Russia, with BOE being the supplier of display screens and Huawei being the supplier of television signal technology. Also, the high-tech company plans to set up a subsidiary in Moscow, focusing on mobile panel and display screen businesses.
Russia, being the largest country in the world by surface area, relies much on the development of its heavy industry. Most of the consumer electronic products sold in the Russian market are imported, 35 percent of which are imported from China.
BOE has been one of Russia’s LCD TV panel suppliers since 2015.
