The 2026 Siming Shopping Festival kicked off on Jan 24 with the vibrant Spring Festival lucky bazaar, the first major offline event of the New Year consumption season in Xiamen's Siming district. The event's launch kicks off a full year of promotional activities designed to boost local spending.
Guided by the vision of "themed seasons, monthly highlights, and weekly surprises", this year's festival will feature a coordinated annual campaign focused on five key sectors: retail in commercial districts, automobiles and home appliances, dining and culinary experiences, time-honored brands, and cultural and tourism consumption. Hundreds of distinctive events are planned across the district to stimulate market vitality.

Incorporating elements of the Year of the Horse, the opening event offered a multifaceted experience — blending a traditional New Year market, folk culture activities, and modern interactive experiences to create an immersive showcase of commerce, cultural tourism, and tradition. The three-day Jialian Spring Festival Lucky Bazaar drew large crowds of residents and visitors alike.
Following the launch, the New Year consumption series has rolled out across the district. Nearly 100 events are now underway, including the Zengcuoan Time-honored Brands Market, festive lantern displays, and special dining promotions, fostering a lively atmosphere and district-wide participation.
Now in its fourth consecutive year, the Siming Shopping Festival has established itself as a regional benchmark for driving consumption and stimulating economic vitality.
