Shanghai Pudong Airport Upgrades Self-Check-in Kiosks

Shanghai Pudong International Airport has recently debuted its new self-check-in kiosks at the airport terminals, making passengers traveling by Delta Air Lines (DL) and Dragonair (KA) the first experiencers of the new convenient service.
To further promote self-help check-in by passengers, Pudong airport has installed 108 self-check-in kiosks at Terminal 1 and 2. Recently 34 self-check-in kiosks have been upgraded at the international and regional departure halls, of which 14 kiosks have been put into service. Later upgrading and replacement work will be performed based on airlines and users' experiences and their feedback suggestions.
The brand-new self-check-in kiosk is equipped with a high-definition touch screen, transforming the previous built-in passport identification mode to the external scanning mode currently. Passengers only have to place the information page of their passport on the kiosk's external platform, and then the machine system will automatically gather and confirm the information on the passport, making the whole check-in process more convenient.
Afterwards passengers will no longer fear their passports being swallowed by self-check-in machines.
