Xu Jinglei creates high-fashion Du Lala

[Photo:baidu.com ] Chinese director Xu Jinglei is working with celebrated American costume designer Patricia Field to make her office politics film a show of office fashion. Xu has invited Field, who has won several awards for designing costumes for the stylish television series "Sex and the City" to be a costume advisor for "Du Lala's Promotion", Sina.com.cn reports. Field showed up Thursday with Xu and the film's cast members at a press conference in Beijing. The fashion guru told reporters her experience in China had been pleasant. "Du Lala's Promotion", adapted from a bestselling Chinese novel of the same name, centers on a woman named Du Lala who takes the high road to get promoted. Xu Jinglei, who is also a popular actress, plays the lead character. The film also boasts a cast of fashionistas, including model-turned actresses Pace Wu and Li Ai, as well as hip-hop star Stanley Huang. "Du Lala" is Xu's fourth film as a director. It is scheduled to be released next spring. |
