Brazilian skater becomes most sponsored athlete

Updated: 2008-12-17 09:55 RIO DE JANEIRO -- Bob Burnquist, the world number one skater in skateboarding tour, has become the most sponsored athlete in the world, his team announced on Tuesday.
With 15 individual sponsors, the Brazilian skater ranks higher than any other athlete in the sports world, the team said in a statement. Burnquist outranks the world's highest paid athlete, American professional golfer Tiger Woods, who has 13 sponsors. Swiss tennis star Roger Federer only has 10 sponsors and the German Formula One legend Michael Schumacher registers eight sponsors. |
