Slovenian Olympic medalists best athletes for 2008

Updated: 2008-12-23 11:01 BELGRADE -- Slovenian Olympic medalists Primoz Kozmus and Sara Isakovic were selected on Monday the best athletes of the tiny former Yugoslav republic for 2008.
Kozmus, the Beijing Olympic champion in the hammer throw, and swimming sensation Isakovic, who won silver in the women's 200 meters freestyle at the Beijing Games, collected 361 and 365 votes respectively from Slovenian sports journalists, the Slovenian news agency STA reported.
A total of 124 journalists from 21 media outlets took part in the annual vote. All of the Olympic medalists and their coaches also received special awards for their achievements at a ceremony held in the capital Ljubljana on Monday evening.
