BEIJING - Shao Bin, a gymnastics judge involved in a a dispute over at the 2010 Asian Games, made his appearance at a Chinese national meet before the international gymanstics governing body's decision is announced, local media reported Wednesday.

Shao showed up at the national gymnastics championships, also serving as a trial for the world championships, among a group of senior judges.

Shao declined to comment on his return to the judge panel as the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) has yet to unveil their decision.

An experienced international judge, who refused to be named, considered that Shao's return may be a sign of a favorable FIG decision, the newspaper said.

Shao was accused of modifying an execution score prior to the Men's Artistic Floor Exercise final at the Guangzhou Asian Games late last year.

The new score moved China's Zhang Chenglong from second to a first place tie with Kim Soo Myun of South Korea.

The FIG announced an appeal to the change of scoring in March and launched an investigation into this matter.

Shao insisted that his decision was not wrong because it ensured the justice of the competition.
