Meili Snow Mountain is located in Deqin county in the Diqing Tibetan autonomous prefecture, Yunnan province. It is a holy place of pilgrimage for Tibetan Buddhists, and the first of the eight great divine mountains in the Tibetan region. The mountain area has 13 peaks with an average elevation of 6,000 meters, among which Kawagebo peak, with 6,740 meters above sea level, stands as the highest one in the province.[Photo/icpress] |
