Sukiyaki hotpot with raw egg dipping sauce

The Japanese-style hotpot brand Izu Yasaimura opened a third outlet in Beijing, at Seasons Place mall, this month. Its other two locations have already made a name for themselves as two of the restaurants in Beijing with the longest queues. They attract diners with high-quality buffet hotpot that is value for money. For 128 yuan per person at lunchtime, and 168 yuan for dinner, you have an unlimited supply of sushi, soft drinks, and imported Australian wagyu beef, and vegetables, all free flow, and one portion of assorted sashimi. There are 10 soup bases.

A popular one is the savory sukiyaki soup said to be brewed beforehand with 13 different vegetables and grilled cow bone marrow for seven hours. Raw eggs served as the dipping sauce for cooked beef are also a specialty. However, not all kinds of eggs can be eaten raw. The eggs offered at Izu Yasaimura are Yodo high-grade eggs from Japan. When dipped in the raw egg the freshly cooked beef becomes cooler and more succulent.

Izu Yasaimura, L402-403, 4th floor, 2 Jinchengfang Jie, Financial Street, Xicheng district; 010-6622-0360.
