Seoul stopped virtually all exchanges with Pyongyang since May, after the international probe concluded that the sinking of a South Korean warship was masterminded by the DPRK, a charge it denied. There will be no government-level aid to Pyongyang, an unnamed unification ministry official in Seoul told Yonhap News Agency.

Local media previously reported on South Korea's potential move to resume rice aid to its northern neighbor despite lingering military tension over the sinking, but the government denied the speculation.
