Iran, P5+1 to 'possibly' resume nuclear talks

(Xinhua) Updated: 2012-10-21 21:12

TEHRAN - Iranian Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi said Sunday that nuclear talks between Iran and six world powers dubbed P5+1 will "possibly" resume in late November, the semi-official ISNA news agency reported.

"According to the latest negotiations, the (nuclear) talks between two sides will be held in November and possibly in late November," Salehi was quoted as saying.

No venue has been decided for the talks, said the Iranian minister.

Iran and the P5+1, the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany, did not sign any agreements during intensive talks in Moscow on June 18-19, but agreed to meet again in Turkey's Istanbul in July at the expert level.

According to Ali Baqeri, Iran's deputy nuclear negotiator, that the nuclear talks with deputy head of the EU's foreign relations in Istanbul in July were "positive." However, no date and venue were set for further high-level negotiations.
