S.Korea to disclose records of 2007 inter-Korean summit

Xinhua | Updated: 2013-06-24 19:28

SEOUL - South Korea's National Intelligence Service (NIS) decided Monday to make recordings of 2007 inter- Korean summit to the pubic, according to Yonhap News Agency.

The records, including former President Roh Moo-hyun's controversial remarks on Northern Limit Line (NLL) during a meeting with leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea ( DPRK) Kim Jong Il, has been a hot political topic between the ruling and opposition parties.

The NIS's decision came after the dispute of the NLL between ruling and opposition parties has recently become more and more heated. The agency said it decided to declassify and disclose the records because both the ruling and opposition parties strong call for it.

Critics say the NIS's move is trying to divert public attention from its allegations of election interference by the opposition party.
