(Xinhua) Updated: 2015-08-14 17:56

HONG KONG - Several local civil organizations staged a protest in Central?Hong Kong?on Friday, demanding Japan reflect on its war crimes in China during World War II and make compensation and apology.

The protesters marched from the General Post Office to the Japanese consulate in Central, waving small yellow flags reading " Hongkongers are still angry", and presented their petition to a representative of the consulate.

Around 50 members from the Hong Kong Reparation Association, China Youth Service and Recreation Center and some anti-militarism organizations took part in the protest.

Chairman of the Reparation Association Lau Man said the Japanese government has not yet compensated the bearers of military notes issued in Hong Kong during the war.

"We feel discriminated against and we will not forget this part of history," Lau said, "We will continue our fight for just compensation."
