COVID cases tick upward in Beijing

Beijing reported 509 locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases and 1,139 asymptomatic carriers on Wednesday, including 328 at the community level, the city's Health Commission said on Thursday morning. The number of new infections increased by 162 over the previous day.
The capital also recorded a local COVID-19 death on Wednesday, the National Health Commission reported.
Beijing Railway Station in the city's Dongcheng district, which was said to have been shut down, is operating normally after a temporary closure overnight because there was no train arriving or leaving, a post on the station's Weibo account said.
