From Jinmen to Xiamen: A TCM doctor's journey across the Strait
Chang Yang-yang, a Jinmen-born TCM physician, now lives and works in Xiamen.?Drawn by the mainland's rich clinical resources for TCM study, he?came to the coastal city for his education and has witnessed the thriving cross-Strait medical exchanges here firsthand.
The Jinmen–Xiamen "one-day living circle" has made medical travel increasingly convenient: residents of Jinmen can take a morning ferry to Xiamen for treatment and return home the same day.
With limited emergency care resources in Jinmen, Chang hopes for greater integration in cross-Strait healthcare services and insurance. A short trip to Xiamen could help secure precious time for emergency treatment and bring quality medical services closer to people in his hometown.
