Head of Beijing's new health body announced
Zeng Xiaopeng was appointed head of Beijing's Disease Control and Prevention Bureau, the website of the city's Health Commission said.
It said Zeng, deputy director of the Beijing Health Commission, has worked for the National Health Commission for years. With a strong professional background, Zeng has been involved in several national research programs and in national standards development.
In December 2021, Beijing launched a plan for disease control and prevention reform. Under the plan, Beijing was to establish a municipal bureau for the work.
The capital will complete a personnel management and payment guarantee mechanism. By 2025, every 10,000 permanent residents will have 1.75 medical workers.
