East China's Anhui province reported a gross domestic product (GDP) of 5.23 trillion yuan ($760.87 billion) at constant prices in 2025, representing a year-on-year increase of 5.5 percent, according to a news conference held by the provincial government on Friday afternoon.

Of the total, the value-added of the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries stood at 355.2 billion yuan, just over 2 trillion yuan, and 2.94 trillion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 3.8 percent, 5.9 percent, and 5.4 percent, respectively.

The province's manufacturing sector delivered a robust performance. Its annual output of automobiles reached 3.69 million units in the year, including 1.79 million new energy vehicles (NEVs), registering year-on-year growth of 3.3 percent and 6.6 percent, respectively.

The province's output of memory chips surged by 130 percent in 2025.

The total value of the province's import and export of goods exceeded 1 trillion yuan for the first time, hitting 1.01 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 17.3 percent. Exports rose by 17.8 percent to 682.31 billion yuan, while imports climbed by 16.2 percent to 331.25 billion yuan. The export volume of laptop computers increased by 13.6 percent.
