A research team from the Hubei Institute of Geosciences discovered abundant and typical Devonian coral fossils in the northwest of Yunxi county, Hubei province, in late March. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

According to Zhao, the findings provide new materials and clues for studying the mysteries of the Qinling Mountains' origin and evolution and exploring the geology of the Devonian period.
