Chinese mainland offers condolences to typhoon victims

The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council on Friday expressed condolences to people in Taiwan affected by the typhoon disaster.
Chen Binhua, a spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office, said that Typhoon Gaemi had passed through Taiwan, resulting in casualties and significant property losses.
According to reports from Taiwan media, as of 2 pm on Friday, Typhoon Gaemi had resulted in seven deaths, one person missing, and 785 people injured on the island.
"We express deep concern for the disaster suffered by the people of Taiwan, extend condolences to the victims, convey sympathy to the families of the deceased and the affected people," Chen said.
"We sincerely hope that the affected individuals will soon recover their production and living order," he added.
