An intriguing and touching moment displaying familial care within a kangaroo family was recently filmed at Chongqing Locajoy Theme Park in Chongqing's Yongchuan district.

In the video, a tiny joey filled with curiosity and playfulness accidentally tumbled while peeking out of its mother's pouch, prompting immediate calls for help. The mother kangaroo reacted swiftly, showing concern and affection, while the father kangaroo also stepped in, protecting and guiding the joey back to safety inside the pouch.

"Unlike the typical scenario where mother kangaroos raise their young, this inseparable kangaroo couple always stays together," said Shen Wei, a zookeeper.

He said joeys typically spend seven to eight months developing in the pouch before venturing onto the ground. Despite being less than six months old and still finding its footing, this joey received immediate protection from the father kangaroo, revealing a wholesome sense of responsibility.
