Finals for Xiong'an New Area's second annual tech competition opens

The finals of the second Xiong'an Future City Scenarios Gathering series opened on Monday in Xiong'an New Area, Hebei province, launching a three-week showcase of cutting-edge innovation aimed at building tomorrow's cities.
Running through June 29 at the Xiong'an Future City Scenarios Sci-Tech Park, the event features hi-tech competition finals across 11 critical fields, including smart agriculture, aerospace information, robotics, financial technology, AI vertical large models, and healthcare, according to the organizing committee.
During the finals, dozens of industry matchmaking, scenario application, and capital connection events will also be held.
Participating teams from nationwide can cross-integrate with frontier technologies from different fields and engage in exchanges and cooperation with potential clients, investment institutions, and others to jointly explore new fields and emerging sectors.
This year's competition has drawn a large amount of participation. Over 2,700 teams from 30 provincial-level regions submitted over 3,400 entries, the committee said, adding that 981 teams advanced to the finals with 1,191 projects.
Beyond the competitions, a key highlight is the Future City Scenarios Experience Week, which also started on Monday. It features an 11-zone exhibition spanning 3,800 square meters, spotlighting 500 innovations.
The exhibition includes outdoor displays of advanced drones, smart farming machinery, and emergency equipment.
Building on the first gathering's success in 2024, of which 74 out of 100 showcased projects have been launched, this year strengthens support mechanisms, with Xiong'an introducing tailored policies and a 200-million-yuan industrial fund, creating a "policy-capital-scenario" support system.
Additionally, a dedicated service company fosters tech transfer, financing, and commercialization. Enhanced partnerships with national authorities and industry groups have boosted the event's expertise.
