China sees over 33.7 billion inter-regional trips in H1

China recorded more than 33.7 billion inter-regional trips during the first half of this year, representing a 4.2 percent increase year-on-year, according to data released by the Ministry of Transport on Friday.
During the same period, the country transported a total of 28.03 billion metric tons of commercial freight, up 3.9 percent year-on-year, the data showed.
Port cargo throughput reached 8.9 billion tons, representing a 4 percent year-on-year increase. In addition, fixed-asset investment in the transportation sector totaled 1.64 trillion yuan ($0.23 trillion), the data noted.
Citing the data, the ministry said that the industry demonstrated stable performance and continued steady growth.
