The 21st Inner Mongolia Ice and Snow Naadam Festival opened on Dec 21 in Hulunbuir city, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, drawing large numbers of visitors from China and abroad.

Blending tradition with innovation, the festival marks a new chapter in the integration of culture and tourism. For the first time, the event is being held on the frozen surface of the Yimin River in Hulunbuir.

Covering about 70,000 square meters, the venue features five functional areas: clusters of Mongolian yurts, ice sculpture photo spots, travel photography areas, a food market, and herdsmen experience zones.

Together with the "Rongrong Snow World" across the river, the site forms a complementary, full-chain tourism experience offering immersive ice-and-snow activities.

Designed around ice and snow, the venue features a snow-built main stage, wooden cabins with forest elements, heated yurts, and a 360-degree circular ice-and-snow stage carpeted with snowflake patterns, showcasing the unique charm of grassland and forest landscapes.

With its long snow season, high-quality snow, diverse landforms, and rich cultural heritage, Hulunbuir has become a major ice-and-snow tourism destination in Inner Mongolia and across China. It has successfully hosted the Inner Mongolia Ice and Snow Naadam Festival for 20 consecutive editions.
