A package of key projects and development plans for the commercial aerospace industry was unveiled on Friday at a conference at Beijing's E-Town, highlighting the city's efforts in fostering high-quality development in the emerging industry.

The conference, themed "harnessing forces to develop the aerospace industry", brought together representatives from government departments, aerospace institutes, leading enterprises, and financial institutions to explore the technological transformation of the sector.

The event featured the release of nine major production-capacity projects, six satellite programs, and the launch of six industrial platforms under the "Beijing Rocket Street" project. It also introduced the development opportunities for the sector during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026–2030).

Ma Chao, deputy director of the Robotics and Intelligent Manufacturing Industry Bureau of the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, said the conference expands industrial development space, strengthens industry support with shared platforms, and boosts new productivity and confidence in industry development.

Enterprises involved value the supporting policies, industrial foundation and synergy provided by E-Town.

"It offers precise and effective policies regarding talent, investment, and insurance," said Xia Dongkun, executive vice-president of Galactic Energy, a leading commercial aerospace company with R&D bases in the area.

"The shared platforms also enhance the industrial synergy, improving efficiency and financial capabilities."

Galaxy Space co-founder Liu Chang promoted the company's intelligent driving and embodied intelligent robots and said the company plans to build a factory in Beijing with an annual production capacity of 500 satellites, making it China's largest facility for mass production of low Earth orbit satellites.

Final inspections were recently completed on "Beijing Rocket Street", which covers 145,000 square meters, and it is now entering the delivery and operational phase, marking it as the nation's first commercial space research and production base.
