China Eastern Airlines announces new Xi'an-Vienna route
A direct flight between Xi'an, the capital city of China's Shaanxi province, and the Austrian capital of Vienna is to be launched by China Eastern Airlines on April 20. According to the Shanghai-based carrier, it will be the first direct route between Northwest China and the Central European country.
It is hoped that the new route, which will bring the airliner's total amount of flights to European destinations to 27, will provide a boost for economic cooperation, cultural exchanges and tourism between the two locations.
To operate every Monday, Thursday and Saturday, the Xi'an-Vienna flight would depart from Xianyang International Airport at 1:30 am and return from the Austrian capital late on the same date (local time).
Tickets for the Xi'an-Vienna flights are available for purchase on the official website of China Eastern as well as on the airliner's app.
