German car maker Mercedes-Benz debuted the new generation of its lifestyle smart cars in Berlin on Wednesday with two new models -- two-seater smart fortwo and four-seater smart forfour.

The new smart car will be equipped with double-clutch gear box, and to to make it easy to drive in a crowded city, Mercedes minimized the turning radius of the smart fortwo from the current 8.75 meters to 6.95 meters. The radius for new smart forfour is 8.65 meters, making both cars easy to navigate in tight spaces.

Pre-sales of the manual version smart car in Europe will start from the end of this month, priced from 10,300 to 11,000 euros (86,447-92,322 yuan).

China will welcome the new smart car soon after the European launch of the double-clutch transmission version next March.
