US report on China's military rejected
By Sun Shangwu (China Daily)
Updated: 2005-07-21 06:07

He urged the US to fulfil its commitments with practical actions, stick to the one-China policy, abide by the three Sino-US joint communiques, and stop arms sales to Taiwan.

The US should treasure the recent progress of Sino-US relations and contribute to the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations, Yang said.

The international community has reached consensus that the development of China creates opportunities, instead of threat, said Yang.

He urged Washington to "respect facts and correct its mistakes."

"Efforts by the US defence department to spread the so-called 'China threat' theory will be totally in vain," he said.
