People's Daily conducted a survey on the Internet about how to strictly manage officials and received more than 4,000 valid responses.
近日，《人民日報》在網上進行了一項關于如何進行從嚴治吏的調查，收到讀者4000多份有效回復。

The results show that more than half of the respondents believe the most important thing the authorities should address is the working style of government officials.
調查結果顯示，超半數受訪者認為，從嚴治吏，最應治理干部“作風不正”。

調查還顯示，近半受訪者認為，某些官員腐敗(corrupt)，對工作不負責任(irresponsible in their work)。而關于如何“治吏”(manage the officials)的問題，約2/3的受訪者認為，政府應從“從嚴監督”(strengthen their supervision)和“從嚴選拔”(be stricter in selecting officials)兩個層面入手。而超1/3受訪者要求政府建立更好的問責機制(a better accountability system)。

About two-thirds of the interviewees think "listening to the public" and "guaranteeing the transparent and open exercising of power" would be conducive to managing officials strictly.
約2/3受訪者認為“傾聽群眾聲音”和“權力運行公開、透明”有利于從嚴治吏。
