An undated handout computer generated image provided by CERN shows Real CMS proton-proton collision events in which 4 high energy electrons (green lines and red towers) are observed in a 2011 event. The event shows characteristics expected from the decay of a Higgs boson but is also consistent with background Standard Model physics processes. ATLAS and CMS experiments presented their latest preliminary results in the search for the long sought Higgs particle in a press conference at the CERN in Geneva, Switzerland, July 4, 2012. Both experiments observe a new particle in the mass region around 125-126 GeV. The results presented have been labelled as preliminary. They are based on data collected in 2011 and 2012, with the 2012 data still under analysis. [Photo/CFP]
