Retired Chinese basketball great Yao Ming has collaborated with the world's largest beer producer to launch a short film warning against the dangers of drunk driving.

The eight-minute micro film, titled Price of Love – No Drunk Driving was unveiled in Shanghai on August 25?in collaboration with brewers Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev).

Ye Li, Yao's wife, is also in the movie.

Riding a light, humorous tone, the film tells how Yao, who plays the role of an executive who always do designated driving for others, has to?look to?outsource?the?task on his wedding anniversary, said AB InBev in a statement.

A 60-second trailer was released by the company on Sunday. The full version will be made public in the coming days.

Despite having appeared in a number of commercials, this is Yao's first ever micro film as it raises awareness on rational drinking and driving habits. He was the subject of a documentary film, The Year of the Yao, in 2004.

While speaking at the debut Yao said, "The film was shot on Father's Day. I hope I can be a role model and inspire more people pay attention to traffic safety...You should never drink and drive, so please choose a designated driver for the sake of love for all."

AB InBev also announced joining the Yao Ming's foundation, and will make donations to build Hope Primary Schools and basketball courts for students in rural China.
