The festival, initiated by the China Dancers Association, the Guangdong Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the China Hip-Hop Union Committee, drew over 500 performers and the 30 shows, which were chosen from more than 100 entries.

Speaking about the event, Xia Rui, the deputy-director of the China Hip-Hop Union Committee, which was founded by the Chinese Dancers Association in 2013, said:"We have about 3 million people in China working in the field of street dance and they are the main force in popularizing this art form.This is just a beginning. ”
