Liaison committee spotlights its work with HK, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese
The Committee for Liaison with Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference held a news conference on Wednesday in Beijing to introduce its work.
Zhu Xiaodan, director of the committee, said the committee has carried out 12 studies on special topics of the Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese affairs, and its members conducted 21 research projects themselves.
Political advisers participated in 10 consultation activities on such issues as promoting innovation cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, strengthening patriotic education for young people in Hong Kong and Macao, further promoting the implementation of measures for cross-Straits economic and cultural exchanges and cooperation, and building overseas Chinese international schools to offer suggestions, he said.
The committee also held four cross-Straits grassroots governance forums, and continued exchanges with representatives of public opinion and village officials from Taiwan, Zhu said.
Representatives from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan were invited by the committee to participate in major events that marked the centenary of the Communist Party of China, and the 110th anniversary of the Revolution of 1911, to promote patriotism and build up strength among them, he said.
