Changning ranks 2nd in GDP per capita among Shanghai's districts

The regional gross domestic product?per capita of Changning district in Shanghai ranked second in the city in 2025, and its per-capita park green area ranked first in the central urban area, the district government's work report showed.

The district's two sessions concluded on Thursday. During the eighth session of the 17th people's congress of the district, Liu Ping, head of Changning district delivered the district government's work report.

According to the work report, in the past year, Changning completed 23 projects for the people ahead of schedule and advanced the construction of 67 projects outlined in the new round of three-year action plan for urban renewal.

"During the past year, the economic development of Changning has reached a new level, new achievements have been made in investment promotion, and reform and innovation sparked new highlights," Liu said. "Meanwhile, the quality of urban areas has achieved improvement, and people's livelihood and well-being has reached a new level."

A total of 1,780 new key projects were introduced to the district, contributing a comprehensive tax revenue of 1.79 billion yuan, an increase of 85.1 percent year-on-year. Additionally, its effective investment continued to expand, with fixed assets investment reaching 21.9 billion yuan for the whole year, an increase of 8.3 percent year-on-year. Nine major municipal projects and 32 major district projects were successfully advanced, according to the report.

Liu noted that in the past year, Changning's level of key industries has been further enhanced. The district has made new progress in serving the country's major strategies, and the practical projects related to people's livelihood have been fully completed.
