美記者：馬來客機失聯不可能與飛行員經驗不足有關
大西洋月刊記者詹姆斯·法洛斯稱不管馬來失聯MH370發生何種事故，都不可能是馬航長期實踐經驗不足造成的。這架航班機長53歲，副機長27歲。53歲飛行員自1981年起加入馬航，累計飛行時數達18365小時。27歲副機長有2763小時飛行經驗。兩人都是馬來西亞人。
越南官員：還沒有發現失聯客機信號
據英國路透社3月8日報道，越南營救官員Pham Hien稱，他們還沒有發現馬來失聯客機的信號。

馬航CEO3月8日表示，失蹤飛機沒有發出呼救信號，飛機上有足夠燃料可較原定飛行時間多飛兩個小時。
馬航公布失聯客機乘客名單 包括154名中國乘客
聲明稱，乘客包括154名中國乘客(包括一名嬰兒，一名中國臺灣乘客)，38名馬來西亞乘客,12名印度尼西亞乘客，7名澳大利亞乘客，3名法國乘客，4名美國乘客(包括一名嬰兒)，2名新西蘭乘客，2名烏克蘭乘客，2名加拿大乘客，1名俄羅斯乘客，1名意大利乘客，1名荷蘭乘客，一名奧地利乘客。
外交部及駐外使領館緊急應對馬來客機失聯事
據報道，馬來西亞航空公司一架波音777客機（MH370）于北京時間3月8日00：42從吉隆坡飛往北京，01：20在越南胡志明市管制區與空管部門失去聯系，同時飛機雷達信號消失，迄未得到飛機進境及與中國空管部門聯系的消息。
王毅：外交部已啟動應急機制應對客機失聯
中國外交部部長王毅8日在十二屆全國人大二次會議舉行的記者會上說，今天早晨，我們得到了一個非常令人憂慮的消息。外交部以及我們有關的駐外使領館已經啟動了應急機制，我們在全力地了解具體情況，一旦有消息我們會及時地向大家發布。
