As the year's biggest cold wave so far swept across Chongqing this week, the average daily temperature across its 39 districts and counties fell by 7 to 10 C, according to the city's meteorological bureau. In response, Chongqing Zoo has crafted "winter warmth packages" to care for its assorted inhabitants.
To protect animals that come from warmer climates, the zoo has enhanced environmental temperatures, optimized enclosures, adjusted diets, and reinforced safety protocols, the zoo said.
